She beat me to it

Fiddlesticks. I just happened to search for a quote that I thought I had effectively created, when I came across this quote from Rita Mae Brown. ("One of the keys to happiness is a bad memory.")

Unfortunately, it bears too much of a striking resemblance to my quote, found in this post ("The key to an exciting life is a very short-term memory.")

Goosh. If I had a million dollars for all the times I've honestly thought of a great idea, only to find out that someone had already patented, popularized and profited from it, then I'd have several million dollars.

Shucks. What this tells me, since I know that I'm supposed to despise the greedy opportunists who compromised their integrity by cashing in their brilliant ideas for a few bucks, is that since I am not rich, I have therefore kept intact the best of both worlds, an untarnished brilliance, a marriage of purity and mind power.

I feel better. If any of you happen to run into Ms. Brown, tell her she can keep her dirty money. 'Cause I don't need it. I've got integrity. And then tell her that if she's smart, she'll take her own advice and forget you ever told her off at all. And then give her a quick roundhouse kick to the head and run away. Yeah.
